    http://taxingscotland.wordpress.com/2011/04/09/greens-land-value-tax-figures-still-overstate-their-case/

I have set everything out on my blog. I have referenced all of my figures which are based on Scottish Government official statistics avilable on the Scottish Government website.

I am 100% confident that the Greens have substantially overstated their claim that their LVT will raise an extra £1.04 billion, it is more like £300 million, which is over £700 million less than they claim.

    Steve

Can you show me your stats for your claim. Andy has done the figures and £1 billion is what will be raised by the proposed rate.

LVT is a far more progressive way to levy a tax than council tax and most people will not pay more as a result.

But the Greens’ claim that they’ll raise an extra £1 billion is wrong. They will actually only raise an extra £155 million.
