Green Party deputy leaders Mothin Ali and Rachel Millward

There are now more than 95,000 members of the Green Party of England and Wales. The milestone was reached following weeks of rapid membership growth since Zack Polanski became the party’s new leader.

At the time of the party’s leadership election, there were 64,581 Green Party members. This means over 30,000 people have joined the party since nominations closed in that contest – an increase of more than 48 per cent.

This is by a large margin the highest the party membership has ever been, and it is now higher than that of the Liberal Democrats.
