Madchester legends Happy Mondays have used their twitter feed to endorse Green Party policies – and probably not the policies you’re thinking of:

The band went on to retweet the party’s call for the withdrawal of Barclays’ banking license over the LIBOR-fixing scandal. It seems, like many including your correspondent, the Salfordian indie-disco merchants are most drawn to the party for its left-wing economic outlook and independence from corporate interests, values which could be said to apply to the Mondays’ iconic label, Factory Records, as much as to the Greens.
