The full list of candidates for the 2025 Green Party Executive (GPEx) elections have now been announced. Every role on GPEx is up for election this year, with half of them being for a one year term, and half being for a two year term.

Here’s the breakdown of who’s standing for what.

Leader

There are just two candidates standing for leader:

  • Adrian Ramsay and Ellie Chowns. Both are MPs, with Ramsay having served as co-leader alongside Carla Denyer since 2021. Before that he was a councillor in Norwich. Chowns, meanwhile was briefly an MEP in 2019 and served as a councillor in Herefordshire.
  • Zack Polanski. Polanski is a London Assembly member, as well as the party’s current deputy leader.

Deputy leader

If you were unhappy with the range of choice for leader, then maybe the deputy leadership contest will be more to you liking. There are a total of nine candidates in the running:

  • Frank Adlington-Stringer (North East Derbyshire Councillor)
  • Mothin Ali (Leeds Councillor)
  • Thomas Daw (North Somerset Councillor)
  • Antoinette Fernandez (2024 Hackney North and Stoke Newington Parliamentary Candidate)
  • Alex Mace (Worcester Councillor)
  • Rachel Millward (Wealden Councillor)
  • Ash Routh (2024 Wakefield and Rothwell Parliamentary Candidate)
  • Ani Townsend (Bristol Councillor)
  • Chas Warlow (2024 Richmond Park Parliamentary Candidate)

Chair

There are just two candidates in the running for chair:

  • Judy Maciejowska (Former Green Party elections coordinator)
  • Jon Nott (Current GPEx chair)

Campaigns coordinator

The incumbent campaigns coordinator Tom Scott is not restanding. There are two candidates in the running:

  • Asma Alam (Muslim Greens co-founder)
  • Haydn Osborne-Brookes (Under 18s Greens co-chair)

Elections coordinator

There are two candidates standing for elections coordinator:

  • Brian Candeland (Current elections coordinator)
  • Faaiz Hasan &  Nicola Day (West Central London Green Party Chair & Peterborough Councillor)

Equality and diversity coordinator

There are four candidates standing for equality and diversity coordinator

  • Rosa Al-Baldawi & Luanne Thornton. (Young Greens international officer & Young Greens co-chair)
  • Ekua Bayunu & Kathryn Bristow. (Former Manchester Councillor & former Green Party Women co-chair)
  • Aasiya Bora & Debra Cooper. (2024 Leicester West parliamentary candidate & 2024 Bridged parliamentary candidate)
  • Cade Hatton. (Green Party Disability Group chair)

External communications coordinator

The incumbent external communications coordinator Molly Scott Cato is not standing for re-election. There are three candidates in the running:

  • Dan Johnston (Former South Gloucestershire Green Party coordinator)
  • Jonathan Kent (2024 Bexhill and Battle parliamentary candidate)
  • Laura Manston (Sevenoaks Councillor)

Finance coordinator

There are two candidates standing for finance coordinator:

  • Imtiaz Ali (Peterborough Councillor)
  • Julian Cusack (Incumbent finance coordinator)

Internal communications coordinator

Incumbent internal communications coordinator Helen Geake is not standing for re-election. There is just one candidate in the running:

  • Vix Lowthion (Former Green Party policy coordinator)

International coordinator

Incumbent international coordinator Frank Sheridan is not seeking re-election.

  • Peter Allen (International committee member)
  • Thomas Atkin-Withers (LGBTIQA+ Greens international officer)
  • Fesl Reza-Khan (Co-chair of Muslim Greens)

Local party support coordinator

There are three candidates in the running:

  • Nicole Haydock (former Bury Green Party coordinator)
  • Rosie Rawle (Incumbent local party support coordinator)
  • Hannah Spencer (Trafford Councillor)

Management coordinator

There are two candidates in the running for management coordinator:

  • Melanie Earp & Dylan Lewis-Creser (Former GPRC member &  Former LGBTIQA+ Greens co-chair)
  • Kate Souper (Incumbent management coordinator)

Policy development coordinator

There are two candidates in the running for policy development coordinator:

  • Anne Gayfer (Incumbent policy development coordinator)
  • Hannah Tucker McLellan (Member of the policy development committee)

Publications coordinator

There are two candidates int he running for publications coordinator:

  • David Lloyd
  • Edward Milford (Incumbent publications coordinator)

Trade union liaison officer

The incumbent trade union liaison officer Matthew Hull is not standing for re-election. There is just one candidates standing this time:

  • Kate Jones & Paul Valentine (AI policy lead at UNISON & Former Green Party Trade Union Liaison Officer)
