Patrick Harvie endorses Alex Phillips for GPEW deputy
Citing her “terrific combination” of personal qualities, Patrick Harvie MSP has added his name to the growing list of high-profile supporters of Alex Phillips’s campaign to be Deputy Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales.
Harvie said:
“I’ll be voting for Alex because I believe she has a terrific combination of qualities which the Deputy Leader will need – energy, creativity, political experience and the charisma needed to help build a stronger Green Party and communicate its message to the widest possible audience.”
Harvie is Glasgow’s Green MSP and co-convenor of the Scottish Green Party. The Scottish party is separate from the Green Party of England and Wales since an “amicable divorce” in 1990, but Harvie, like many Scottish Greens, maintains membership of both parties and will be eligible to vote for Phillips in the ballot later this summer.
